Does a good track record mean someone is a skilled investor?

Not necessarily. Proof of Call shows when each call was made and how it turned out. It doesn't measure or endorse the quality of anyone's advice, and a track record, good or bad, is not a prediction of future calls.

Details

  • Small samples are noisy. Profiles will show a range around the hit rate and a flag until at least 20 calls have been scored.
  • Calls can overlap. Several calls on the same idea, or on stocks that move together, are closer to one bet than many. Near-duplicates are grouped, but correlation isn't fully captured.
  • Logged isn't everything. A writer chooses which calls to log. See Can a writer log only winning calls?
  • Nothing on a profile is a recommendation to act on any call. See Is this investment advice?
