  • Findings: what we measured, with method, sample and date

    SiteStatus: Live

A new Findings page, linked from the site footer, lists facts we measured ourselves: when SEC filings became public in one sample of large companies, every sealed test of our own Backtest Auditor including the misses, and facts about our public ledger. Each entry gives its method, sample, date and source.

  • Plain-text versions of our pages for AI assistants

    SiteStatus: Live

The site now has an llms.txt file that summarizes who we are and each product's status, a single file with the full text of our Learn and help articles, and a Markdown copy of each of those articles at the same address with .md added. The regular pages stay the ones to cite.

  • Help chat

    SiteStatus: Live

A help chat on the site now answers questions using only our published help articles and links the articles it used. It's an AI assistant, and for anything it can't answer it points you to hello@nothingbutalpha.app.

  • Learn: point-in-time fundamentals and SEC filing times

    SiteStatus: Live

A new Learn article explains why joining company financials by fiscal period end or by filing date can use numbers before they were public, and how to join them on the time the SEC accepted each filing. Its code runs on simulated data, so all code results are hypothetical; its filing-time figures describe SEC data for 20 large US companies, not any strategy's results.

  • Learn: three articles on backtest pitfalls

    SiteStatus: Live

A new Learn section, linked from the site footer, explains look-ahead bias in pandas, survivorship bias, and how to correct a backtest statistic for the number of variants tried. Every code example runs on simulated data, and all results in it are hypothetical.

  • Short demos on both product pages

    SiteStatus: Live

The Backtest Auditor and Proof of Call pages now show short animated examples: a look-ahead leak being flagged, and an illustrative call being sealed and later scored. The examples use fictional data.

  • Backtest Auditor page now describes version 0.4

    Backtest AuditorStatus: Live

The Backtest Auditor page now describes version 0.4: six tools and two prompts, run locally as an MCP server. Version 0.4 isn't released yet. The page also explains what the check can miss.

  • Backtest Auditor 0.4 in internal testing

    Backtest AuditorStatus: In testing

Version 0.4 of the Backtest Auditor, a local MCP server, is in internal testing, following versions 0.2 and 0.3. It isn't released yet and will be available after release. For what the check can and can't flag, see the Backtest Auditor page.

  • Private Proof of Call app built and switched off

    Proof of CallStatus: Internal

We built a private web app for logging calls to Proof of Call. It's switched off on the public site and isn't open to anyone yet.

  • First ledger fingerprint published on GitHub

    LedgerStatus: Live

The ledger's first daily fingerprint was published at 00:38 UTC on October 17, 2026, in ledger-heads, a public GitHub repository we created on October 16. Once the ledger's records and verification tools are published, anyone will be able to use these fingerprints to check that the ledger hasn't changed since a given day's fingerprint was published.

  • Ledger recorder started running

    LedgerStatus: Internal

Our nightly ledger recorder started running in production. The ledger itself isn't open to anyone, and on this date it held no calls and no results. Only its daily fingerprints are public.

  • Help center

    SiteStatus: Live

A new help center answers common questions about our products, the ledger and our policies.

  • Our pages now say sign-ups aren't open yet

    SiteStatus: Live

Sign-ups aren't open yet, and our pages now say so instead of showing a sign-up form. For a heads-up when they open, email hello@nothingbutalpha.app.

  • New site and brand

    SiteStatus: Live

Our home page now introduces Nothing But Alpha and links to pages for our two products in development, Proof of Call and Backtest Auditor.

  • Proof of Call page

    Proof of CallStatus: Live

A new page describes Proof of Call, a tamper-evident track record for people who make public stock calls. It's in development, and sign-ups aren't open.
